Carnauba wax
Natural wax gives a warm, deep glow and is easy to apply, but it typically lasts only four to eight weeks — less in a New England winter. It's great for show cars and enthusiasts who enjoy frequent waxing.
Synthetic paint sealant
Polymer sealants bond more strongly than wax and last four to six months. They offer a sharp, glassy shine and are a cost-effective middle ground for daily drivers.
Ceramic coating
A ceramic coating is a liquid silica-based layer that cures into a hard, semi-permanent shell. Professional coatings last two to five years or more, resist chemicals and UV, and make washing dramatically easier because dirt and water slide off.
Which should you choose?
If you lease or plan to sell within a year, a sealant is usually enough. If you keep cars long-term, park outside, or hate scrubbing off salt and bird droppings, a ceramic coating pays for itself in time saved and paint preserved.
